Social post
I'm planning on opening sign-ups on Saturday, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to make a social/chatter post for challenge participants and those who are thinking of participating. I'm including a questions thread so if you have questions about the exchange you can ask there. I may update the Rules post as a result to clarify some stuff, but I doubt anything *major* will change.

Please feel free to introduce yourself in the comments! And/or tell us about your favourite Shakespeare play, or that great (or awful) production of a play that you saw recently, squee about your Shakespearean OTP/3/x... Please remember to be nice to one another: if you wouldn't say it to someone's face, maybe don't say it.

Re: INTRODUCTIONS
Hi! To get the ball rolling:

I'm Lex, your friendly neighbourhood mod. My favourite plays are Twelfth Night and Hamlet, as my long-suffering Twitter friends can attest.

I saw a glorious production of Hamlet set in a juvenile prison a few years ago which I still rate as the best I've seen. I've seen a lot of bad theatre but the worst is probably the current Dream at the Globe - I left after 30 min.

Shakespeare is one of those fandoms where if it's well written I can buy almost any ship, and I love lots of canon couples (Beatrice and Benedick, Hermia and Lysander, Valentine and Silvia). Hamlet/Horatio is a favourite of course but I also find thinking about Hamlet/Ophelia or Hamlet/Laertes interesting, and someone even managed to sell me Horatio/Ophelia once.

Re: INTRODUCTIONS
I would love to see/read whatever convinced you of Horatio/Ophelia!

Re: INTRODUCTIONS
Hello!

I'm Jill, or Meatball42 everywhere, and I'm psyched to see a Shakespeare exchange! I don't know yet if I'll sign up, because I signed up for too many already :) but I', happy that this even exists!

My favorite plays are actually Hamlet and Twelfth Night as well, though I also love Othello and had to read Macbeth in three different classes. I also have a big soft spot for Much Ado About Nothing, and unexpectedly really enjoyed Measure for Measure.

I'm looking forward to using this exchange as an opportunity to reread things :) (she says as though she's already signed up, okay, let's be real, I'm going to, who needs sleep?)

Re: INTRODUCTIONS
Hi Jill! Welcome to the stage. It's great to see your enthusiasm. This is the first time I'm running this exchange so I am hoping it'll go well.

How funny that we have the same favourites :D And Much Ado is Shakespeare's feelgood play (and probably one of the first romcoms ever), I have a lot of time for it too.

Ah, yes, the classic move: "oh noes, why am I signed up to so many exchanges?" *signs up for two more*. It would be lovely to have you on board!

Hi I'm Mific.
I love Shakespearean era writing and poetry but am relatively ignorant about many of the plays, so am leaping in where angels etc. But I can improvise and I can do research, so will give it a whirl!
I love AUs so am hoping I get a recipient who also likes them. :)
Too mnay challenges as usual, but this looks like fun, so what the hell.

Hi Mific! So please to have you on the stage.

I like AUs too! One of my favourite Hamlet fics is a coffeeshop AU/retelling :D
